On May 27, 2019, 15 tornadoes ripped through the Miami Valley, affecting thousands of people and leaving at least 600 families homeless. Like many of you, we too were out assisting with the cleanup and relief efforts, and are working to make sure that not only the long term needs of these families are met, we also want to make sure that we are also showing continuous support for those grassroots efforts who stepped up in a major way to help these families.
Our anniversary is always celebrated via community outreach initiatives and this year in celebration of our 6th anniversary, we will host Fashion, Mission, & Mingle where fashion and outreach meet.
While supporting the Tornado Relief efforts of SoLoved during this event, we are also providing opportunities for Fashion Professionals to gain additional knowledge about the business and marketing aspects of the industry as well! SoLoved is a project based organization in the Dayton community. We are committed to assisting different populations through community outreach by doing quarterly initiatives. Our focal scripture is John 3:16, For God so loved the world…Our mission is HE gave, so we give! The purpose of SoLoved is to meet the needs of individuals in the community while expressing to them that Jesus loves them. We seek to aide and empower them not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually through the word of God. SoLoved was founded as a way to let people know that God loves them and just how much He loves them, through scripture and outreach. Outreach will be done by quarterly initiatives in the community through witnessing and the donation of specific items; those items will be tagged with the SoLoved logo and focal scripture. We want to do a larger scale community event in November that will support the families impacted by the tornadoes. This event will be more of a House Warming celebration. We are looking for 5-10 families who may be moving back into their homes that are still in need of items as well as 5-10 families who may still be without homes and want to try and have a nice holiday season. The idea is to have these families create registries and have the community buy the items which will be collected during the event. Dinner will be served regardless of your ability to pay.
Last but not least, we want to give away at least 100 food baskets for those who need them. The tentative date for this event is Saturday, November 16; time and location of the Housewarming event, donation drop off locations, and additional details will be released September 1st, 2019.
If you, or someone you know could benefit from this event, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
